Sean Hartley is a leading authority on the history of the Broadway musical and is the director of Theater@Kaufman, the musical theater division of the Kaufman Music Center in New York. Sean curates, produces and often hosts the acclaimed series Broadway Close Up and Broadway Playhouse.
A celebrated lyricist, composer, and playwright, his musical works are many, including Snow -- winner of the ASCAP Harold Arlen Award for Best Musical. Sean’s talents extend to television with multiple Disney credits, as well as beloved theater works for young audiences.
Hartley is a passionate educator and frequent lecturer on musical theater. Along with musical examples, Sean will highlight four of Broadway’s revolutionary shows, focusing on why these shows helped musicals evolve from light entertainment to a thoroughly integrated work of art.
