Port Huron Town Hall: Darren McGrady

Royal Chef Darren McGrady earned a place in the Palace kitchen after his training at The Savoy Hotel in London. He was personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Diana, Princess of Wales and Princes William and Harry for a total of 15 years. He has also cooked for five U.S. Presidents. Other than cooking daily and catering banquets for the royal family, his duties also included traveling with the royal family to their various homes as well as on the royal yacht Britannia on tours around the world.

Darren is the author of Eating Royally; Recipes and remembrances from a palace kitchen as well as The Royal Chef at Home – Easy Seasonal Entertaining, mixing the high life of British royalty with the simple pleasures of the American home.

Today, Chef McGrady is one of the world’s most notable chefs and storytellers as he shares his recipes and memories of his 15 years with the royal family. Since the Princess’s death, he has devoted much of his free time working for causes Princess Diana supported.

Whether it’s one-on-one with Oprah or hosting a cooking demonstration for 4,000, Chef McGrady entertains and engages his audience with his wit and charm.
