MAY 2008 CURTAIN CALL KIDS MEETING INFORMATION
The meeting will be at the Port Huron Outlet Mall
(Port Huron Civic Theatre's Rehearsal Location just before Famous
Footwear)
May 17th (Saturday)
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
All area kids 5 years and older are welcome to
attend.
This month's focus is on Auditions. We will be
learning what to expect at an audition, how to behave, what the Audition
Board and Director are looking for, etc.
At the end of the learning session, we will be
practicing techniques. We are having a real audition
during the last part of the session.
Audition is for the Summer Series
Children's Variety Show
Show dates are Saturday and Sunday
July 26th and
July 27th
All kids who want to be involved will get a part in
the show. They must make a commitment to attend rehearsals and be
available during Tech Week and Show Dates. Each Curtain Call Kid
must sign up to be a Port Huron Civic Theatre member. ($10.00 per child
yearly). Even if your child will not be participating in the show,
they should still attend the monthly Curtain Call Kids meetings to have
fun and make new theatre friends. We will be charging a participation
fee for each child in the July show. (instead of selling tickets to
each performance).
Adult/parent volunteers are greatly needed and
appreciated! Rehearsal times will be determined by the number of
participants and their schedules.
If your child will be attending in May, talk to them
about what they might want to perform in the show. They can prepare by
bringing their own music on CD for auditions. We will have music
available for anyone who didn't bring their own. We will have a script
for their reading, and a choreographer to teach them simple movement for
the audition.
